Not really, but I suppose it depends on what you're looking for in music.

I'm enjoying a lot of stuff coming out at the moment. I think that TDE and Odd Future are great record labels, and I like that guys like Action Bronson are making NY rap exciting again. And the fact that El-P and Killer Mike can come together and make something better than anything either of them has done before is great. On that note, I'm not really looking for new versions of the music I liked 10 years ago (understanding the irony of Bronson's voice) so maybe that's why I'm finding rap music so enjoyable at the moment.

I don't believe it's necessarily possibly to 'outgrow' music though. You might drift away from it, but it's not as if rap is constrained to the 12-25 age bracket these days. It's matured a lot in the past few years as the average age of the rap fan has gone up.

People need to just relax and take the albums in stride. Everyone is so hard pressed to find the next best thing or trying to find faults in hip hop. Every album is either trash or classic a week into it. I think people just need to learn how to listen to music in moderation more instead of allowing the internet to overwhelm them or make them constantly anticipate something new.

Actually since the one-hit wonder era ended back in 2010, I actually am happy with the new generation of rappers like Cole, Wale, Meek Mill, Kendrick, and even simp azz Drake. If you made this thread back in 06-07 I would've agreed with you.

The sea of music that is in Hip Hop is waaay too vast for me to get bored. I'm always finding new stuff, both old an new.

I bet the OP only started listening to Hip Hop yesterday or someshyt.

Yeah, I think Hip Hop these days is just bland. It's a couple of :ehh: moments but a lot of and too many :what: moments.

I hear a few tight or good beats with some nice production from time to time but not enough emcees or rappers really saying anything unique or witty enough to really help compliment the music that their rhyming over.

The superficial emcee with no substance is wild boring.

But I mess with anyone who brings emotion like Scarface/Budden/Eminem/Pac or energy like ScHoolboy Q or charisma like Dip Set/ATL, I'll take either.

I think the lack of creativity is the thing that makes rap boring sometimes.
