Anyone Else Miss Going to Blockbuster Video?

Dope thread. Red box use to be a big thing for me, but for some reason now it isn't. I guess I just download most new shyt that drops off a torrent or something, and that's really all That redbox has is well...newer shyt. Blockbuster on the other hand was like walking into a fukking movie garden or some shyt. I'm a b-horror junkie and me and my cousin use to stay renting old ass random horror films. And shyt back in the VHS era. you could get old shyt for like a buck or they had some kinda deal where you could get 5 movies for like 5.50. As a kid Moms stopping at blockbuster was like You didn't know what you might get, and before the internet shyt didn't have reviews all over the place. you get a shytty game you just got a shytty game. But when you got something good it was on. And even if the game was shytty, you'd still wake up early on Saturday and play that shyt, because you knew it had to go back.

Brehs its funny how such trivial things can be so important when looking back. I remember when my pops rented a sega genesis. I had a nintendo but never had a sega. I still remember that piff. Games were like gold as a kid and to get a new system and new games was like christmas.


It's easy to forget how amazing the world was as a kid. Remember this with your kids.

I used to rent the games and look up the cheat codes cause i knew i aint have that much time to beat it. and me and my sis used to try to find the worse b-movies on purpose and ending up finding some gems (april fools day, happy birthday to me).

Those were two of the best joints on that system, especially the Rescue Rangers one. Best co-op play in the 8-bit era.

I miss it. Not being able to afford going to the movies and having movie channels on cable, renting was the option. Considering the number of movies that Hollywood puts out, you can't see them all. So there were always some old movies that I missed out when it was a new release, that I would rent. Then, if it sucked, I wouldn't feel so bad.
Plus, it wasn't just movies, I would rent documentaries, stand-up comedy, concert videos, and anime.

Back in the day, I used to go to these non-chain movie rental places and they always had a separate room for adult videos. It was the doorway of shame as I passed through... Then, going up to the cashier with a box office PG action movie on top and a whack adult video underneath was even more embarrassing. I just hoped no one from church would see me.
