anyone else miss the 6th generation of gaming

Gen 6 was my Favorite gen it was the first gen a sega and Microsoft console coexisted at the same time. The Legendary titles on dreamcast and the diversity of the ps2 catalogue makes this easily the best gen ever in my eyes. Gen 4 comes after then gen 7 the nickle and diming and the dropped level of exclusive titles compared to the previous gen before it is why I would place it third amongst Gen 6 and 4. Gen 3 and 5 are known as the ugly gens to me but there's a few classics in these gens.

Generation was cool, but the 7th gen was better because that's when consoles finally caught up to the PC with online play.

Nah that's so irrelevant. The 6th gen was fun and creative and games weren't about micro transactions. Catching up to pc has made developers lazy and creativity less important.

I really do

Currently playing thru some classics from that gen that I missed out on/never finished

and there was DLC on Xbox, remember for Halo 2, rainbow 6 (think they would be free after a few months tho)

Honestly gen 7 could been a lot better than it was yea online was great but from a developer standpoint they didn't take that much risk because the was development costs in games were getting expensive So a lot of them played it safe and the diversity was lacking I mean fukk half the games in that gen are fps jrpg's were lacking fighters got better towards the end but still not as much as previous gens. Uncharted and last of us were definately game changers for that gen but that level of quality wasn't consistent.

It was a great for innovation in games, and japan was much stronger, but can't go back to that offline style of gaming. I love having friends lists, feeds, streaming, digital games/dlc, etc.

nikka I was just playing final fight 3 on Super Nintendo and shyt is still piff
