i sleep with the window open all year even in winter i crack the window. the sound of nothing is the sound of death...

it's not the sound i want to sleep to. it's like in nature when you out in the dark and you hear all types of critters buzzing in the night then they all suddenly go quiet, you just know something lurking in the dark. nature is playing hide and seek.. that's not a good sound. when i can hear some level of low activity my mind knows all is good. even if it's just a breeze and the occasional car drifting past. a cat fight in the alley, the local drunk coming home at 4am. the snow plow scrapping the streets before dawn in the winter... it's all soothing to me.

I don't know why, but around the time I turned 30 I just suddenly didn't need any noise to sleep anymore.


Now I just sleep in silence.

If I have a chick over and she snores it doesn't even bother me. I'm knocked out instantly.
