The show was too nuanced and intelligent to be honest. It was like 70% thought provoking sarcasm and dry wit, and 30% comedy. Plus he veered too much into black issues which is a good thing if the viewer is black but we are only 13% of the general population. The only way black issues can be digested by culture unfortunately is to wrap in some slap stick

Nah. Tried to give it a shot but it just couldn't stick. Larry is just not that good as a host and the panel discussions weren't that interesting.

TBH, I don't really mess with too much of these political comedy news shows unless its John Oliver. Samantha Bee's show was pretty solid too from the little I've seen.

His voice threw me off, he was pandering imo. Plus the panels always came off awkward, people trying too dam hard to be funny and failing.

One thing I like about Bill Maher is if you try to upstage him with your own humor he shuts that shyt down. Wilmore was letting too many struggle bars go unchecked.
