one game that still has old school difficulty is dark souls... to where the bosses are actually intimidating and not so easy to beat.

havent played that yet but i did beat demons soul,you played that one?

one of the hardest games i ever played,it was refreshing though fighting bosses,nowadays bosses barely exist.

Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. Also Sonic: Lost Worlds is coming to Wii U this fall with the same gameplay engine.

I'm thinking about copping a used wii. They're only about 40 bucks now at some places and just playing some of these different games. I've never been a fan of nintendo's business practices, but I give them props for sticking to the script and not trying to make every game overly violent, realistic and 'mature'.

Trust me, the excessive use of the mature games will eventually turn people off. There have been long time gamers that finally stopped gaming in the PS3/ 360 generation cause of the clones of GTA/ COD being the norm. Lack of variety and innovation has already set the Japanese gaming market back, and it will slowly do the same in the American market.

Co-sign. I want to know what happened to the platformers? I mean u had spyro(now its skylanders and he's not even the main star), crash bandicoot, rayman(finally went back to his roots with origins),sonic(games are jokes now), jak and daxter(heard the last two games weren't good). All the good companies either went bankrupt or changed their business model to focus more on the casual crowd. Would really like to see more platformers and stuff being made

Developers think that we hate 3D platformers. I don't get it.

There isn't that much variety now because studios are scared to take a chance and smaller studios that made different types of games back in the day have folded because the increased budgets.

just looking at all these threads about kinect always on, about cable boxes etc.

im sick of this just let me get a system that plugs into a hdmi cable that boots up in under a minute and i can just play like boom
