Anyone else use the Thriller album as the standard-bearer to compare every other artist to?

Like I don't even think my favorite MJ songs are on Thriller, I think Off the Wall is my favorite album. But, the beginning to end quality is something I always admire. It's what I compare the quality of every other album to.

If an artist put out an album that can be played from beginning to end with out skipping a track I say that is their thriller album.

I think the only other album I use like this is Stevie Wonder's Songs in the key of life.

No because it's not fair. No album can ever measure up to Thriller or Off the Wall. You'll seldom find an artist that is willing to put that much effort, thought and time into each song on an album because it's all about money nowadays.

MJ respected the artistry of music. I heard a story that Quincy Jones and him decided to record half the song of either Thriller or Beat it in a bathroom because they loved the acoustics of that particular bathroom.

My nikka that's respect for the art to the next level.

nikkas ain't putting that kinda effort into they projects. Thriller doesn't have ONE filler track at all. Masterpiece

No, there’s no point to compare. You’ll always be let down if you do that. The way they went about making that album set a standard for albums and how they’re created. Just examine Jacko’s recording process and you’ll understand why there’s no point in comparing...

Off The Wall was way better than Thriller.

The former was pure soul whilst with the latter, he was shamelessly trying to cross over.

It's still a good album but because of its impact, people overlook that if you put both albums side by side and and Base it purely on the musical content, Off The Wall is faaaaar more superior in every way.
