And not only applying to being the token minority, but being the only one of your gender/religion/whatever in class or at work?

I'm not the token, but I am the only black person in my phD cohort...I know I'm not the token because there is no quota for minority phD students since I'm the first one in like 3 years here...it sucks but oh well when you go to a big school, these are the demographics you expect

Not until i went to college(Clemson) did i become this. At first, it was a little weird, but after a while i got over it. Actually used it to my advantage at parties and social settings. Every white person wants to be cool wit you. I liked my core group of friends because we only had one straight up cac, everybody else was black, mixed, or from some other country.

I was never the Token till I got to college, PWI's can be a bytch. But I tend to hang out with white people that have similar hobbies: Hip Hop, Urban movies, NFL, NBA, etc. My white friends would probably be some of the best posters in the Booth. And they aren't wiggers either, they're just cool ass white boys that have similar interests as me.

I've been the token twice.
Currently, I'm the only black person in my office. Everyone else is either white (the office workers) or hispanic (production). The only bad part is that if we ever do office parties, I can't turn it up like if it was a bunch of brothas n sistas. I hardly ever get the :mjpls: vibe tho, so it's :ehh:

The other time was when I had to do an art class for one of my college electives. Picture this, in a class of seven, I was
-the only black
-the only male
-the only non-art major
in my class, so to say I was outnumbered was an understatement :merchant:
