Do You mean a domain name?

Edit: Just checked out Flippa, see what u mean... didn't know that was a thing... whats the purpose though, will the person buying the website own all rights and get the profit from said website?

You buy the site and everything associated with the business (usernames, passwords, etc).

I'm trying to find something with a physical product to sell.

I've ran a black adult tube style site and dabbled here and there on sites like flippa and digital point. I don't have wealth of knowledge but what I learned when trying to sell/buy full websites be careful of the traffic and statistics they provide. Many people like to buy traffic to trick potential buyers thinking it is a better investment than it actually is. Revenue statements from marketing or google adsense can be manipulated, make sure they provide a substantial way for you as a serious buyer to really check out the financials outside of a picture. Like I said I don't have a wealth of knowledge but do your due diligence and don't be afraid to ask serious questions so you aren't over charged for a particular online property. Also, if there is particular branding, trademarks, copyrights make sure they are transferable to you and such just to protect yourself. Just my few cents, I know its not much but I hope it starts the discussion.

I've considered it. But it's impossible to validate any metrics, I'm not the type of guy to do that

I'm fairly certain though you have to or can integrate Google analytics when selling... granted, you could just buy fake traffic, but that's easier to spot than book cooking a small business

Usually you can get a good grasp on traffic and if you determine it's real, at least make an educated guess if the buy price is something worth it.

honestly, the safest bet is to find some forum like The Coli and buy out the owners (never happen here though). Then aggressively ask for donations to keep it going. Let some oldschool established posters handle moderation, you handle collecting donations and advertising.

I would have bought this old Steelers site I was on if I knew the owner was goign to pull the plug :mjcry:

Wish I knew about this 3-4 years ago, when I had disposable income and was around engineers. I am too green to buy something without knowing how to POSSIBLY increase /maintain revenue

You right I was thinking about buying KTT back when it was Kanyetalk for $1000 but at the time I wouldn't have known what to do with it
