what do they give you?

Its based on what you make at your job up to a certain point.

Once you make so much, the MAX you can get a week in alot of places is like 400 bucks a week, if they DONT take taxes out.

If you know how long you will be on unemployment its no big deal, but if you get laid off and are looking for work, you want to make sure they take the taxes out or they will come back for it when you file next. shyt will add up if you on that bytch for a few months.

Every state is different. Check your Department of Labor office.

I've been laid off three times. Usually, unemployment is a percentage of your previous job's income, but up to a maximum amount. I've always had good paying jobs so I got the maximum allowed amount. Don't think I was eating. In reality, I was living at home with my parents, as a grown adult, to cut down on expenses when I got laid off my first salaried job. It's a lesson in humility.
When I lived on my own, I barely made it through on unemployment, but had severance pay which slowly dwindled month by month. That was the second time I got laid off.
The third time, I also was living on my own and the job market was really bad. It was funny and sad to see the same group of individuals at job fairs and job interviews. Unemployment was like around 1/4 of my previous income so I was dipping into savings every month. That's when you buy no-name-brand Frosted Flakes and stuff like that. :shaq2:
