Is it worth it while on vacation ??

Far from the strip.
Stay at the cosmo. You won't regret it.
Harrah is nice and lowkey and cheap.
But the cosmo is where it's at. Trust me.

Vdara is kid friendly. Nicer hotel with no casino or smoking inside. Its on the strip so you can walk around and see shows and arcade they got at New York New York.
