Man thats what made it so bad.... you can tell a piece of his soul evaporated when he said 4 ropes. And instead of just rolling with it, dude lost a little bit of swagger, and dropped his eyes down and had to correct himself

i feel like he may have botched because he was thinking it should have been a face turn [due to initial pop] then heard the crickets when he said he didnt care about the fans..mighta thrown his brain off or some shyt. i was thinking that it coulda been a just "respect me in the ring and thats how we can connect by doing hard work at our best" type vibe rather than just a sympathetic promo outright stating that but then he jobbed to barrett so now im thinking anything from [optimistic] slow burn face turn with authority back to [pessimistic] deavors status

And yeah, he should have powered through it. That loss of confidence was hard to watch.
They're going to have dude backstage wearing cone shaped, dunce caps and celebrating two counts as victories, with the ref reminding him three comes after two while he looks visibly confused before taking a finisher from his opponent.
