A lot of them Asian/Indian/Mexican families just want to maintain and preserve their bloodline :manny:

Pretty much. I brought a white girl home when I was a teenager and my mom told me not to marry her because she didn't think white women could cook or clean. :dead:

Everybody loves themselves and no one else

Asians are racist period....people always talk about black folks being intraracists but Asians I dare to see are worst than black folks and you already know how they are when you walk in their stores or when their children date outside their race

I fail to see what difference it makes if you are american. Most Congolese people speak french regardless of where they live. Anyway, how do you communicate with your relatives there are a lot of french words in lingala.

I understood half of what you wrote because of it. I'm half Congolese and half creole-American. I was born in California thus I don't speak French . I learned Lingala because that is what was spoken to me as a child

look at how much pawg praising goes on in this
among latinos, older parents and grandparents also dont like it when their daughters date black dudes. its not so much a skin color thing in my experience tho. for example, my wife's ex boyfriend was a very dark skinned dominican. when she came home with him for the first time, her grandma was pissed and disappointed until she realized he was a black dominican, not a black american. when she realized he was dominican she became fond of him.

Was wondering, was your grandmother's original reaction mostly because the dude wasn't Dominican, or was the possibility that he could've been a black American that contentious? Also, in your opinion, how do you think she would've reacted if he was an Afro-Latino from a different country? Or even an African?

As for the OP, this shouldn't surprise you. Exceptions aside, Asians especially, tend to stick to their own.

The bigger question, IMO, is why do black Americans (and by extension black people in general) have that bad of a rap? And what needs to be done to tackle that problem. Our own media, for one.

Personally, black people put other races on a pedestal too much. We trash each other to big up other races. Most people respect those who are not so thirsty gor other people's approval.
Let blacks become an insular economic force and everyone and their mama will want to mess with blacks.

it was my wife's grandmother so im not sure, but i think her reaction was mostly because she thought he was african american. if he was an afro cuban or any other afro-latin i dont think she would have had a negative reaction.
