You'll just end up replacing it with something else, but best of luck to you.
This is true.

Was a smoker in my late teens, early twenties.

I replaced it with the gym surprisingly and became hooked on that ever since. Now my stress reliever is the gym and if I don’t go, I’m irritated as fukk throughout the day.

It’s a vice that never goes away—that need. You just put something good in place of the bad.

The gym is one place I use my addictive personality to my advantage. but then sometimes I smoke tree after work and eat like shyt. I eat like shyt whenever I smoke it's almost like my soul is punishing me because I know I shouldn't be smoking.

That’s exactly it breh. It’s the only place I’ve found that that obsessiveness is useful as fukk.

If it wasn’t for the gym, I’d be :sadcam:

I find that discipline and abstention are two separate things,

One is mastering your addiction. and the other is hiding from it until you mess up and dive back into bad habits again.

I never want to put myself in the position where i feel like i failed or guilty just for having 1 drink.

Instead i challenge myself to make a bottle last the whole year. I usually buy a half gallon something fancy and expensive to help motivate me to draw it out.
Moderation is my goal.

I drink 2 talk cans and call it a day. Rarely drink more these days. When I was younger and used to be around smoke sessions I would catch a buzz and leave. My friends would be smoking for hours doing nothing.
