Since we're on the subject, thinking about a rice cooker/steamer:jbhmm: not sure about it because I might as well use a pan tho, is it worth the purchase?

Yes!!! I made a delicious stew yesterday, 10 minutes saute/ browning and then only 45 minutes to cook it. So good. And this morning i just used the saute function to make some pan seared lamb chops.
i usually use it to cook my sweet potatoes and curried rice that I like to eat all the time. Love it.

I upgraded to a Ninja Foodi as well. I did a pretty good write up recently in that "Chipotle Manager gets fired after refusing Black people service & demanding proof of income" thread.

It can pressure cook, air-fry, steam, slow cook (croc pot), broil, bake/roast, sear/saute, and dehydrate.

I made some potato wedges in it for the first time a few days ago. I messed up a little, but they still came out tasting good. I cut my potatoes into quarters, pressure cooked them in the air crisp pan it came with, seasoned them, and air-fried them. I made the mistaken when I forgot to rube the potatoes in olive oil after I pressure cooked them. That would have made them a lot more crispier. But they tasted so good, I may not even need them to be crispy anymore. On that note, I definitely prefer these than fries.

A lot of people mess up on a recipe the first time, then put the unit in the closet. I suggest you try it again a few times. You won't regret it. Although the unit comes with it's own recipe book, they can recommend a little too much salt and /or butter. But if you already know how to cook, you already know how much seasoning you'll need. For me, it was trial and error, which was no problem. I get a lot of my recipes off you tube as well.

Right now, I'm cooking some corned beef for the first time, I smell it already. I'm using the pressure cooker setting. When it finishes, I'm going to throw a cabbage, some carrots, a chopped onion, and some potatoes in the pot using the remaining water. Them I'm going to pressure cook those. I could have put the vegetables in with the corned beef, but the cabbage might have came out to mushy. But I really don't mine soft cabbage. Next time, I'm going to cook everything together.

how do you cook those?? we need answers
-Season and marinate the meat beforehand..Worchestire,allspice,garlic,onion powder, chop onions, etc

-Brown the tails, ribs (I coated the last batch of meat in a lil flour as the flour helps thicken the gravy up:steviej: )

SEARING IS A MUST:ufdup:

-Throw in your wet stuff like the red wine, broth or water
(The liquid can't be too thick in a pressure cooker otherwise the pressure won't build...you'll have to thicken the sauce after it cooks pressurized with some cornstarch or flour)

Set it and wait :wow:

I'd rather cook short ribs than oxtails..tails are cheaper but be no fukking meat..at my meat market frozen oxtails are 4.99lb I bought $20 worth but should've bought more.

Short ribs have way more meat

I've also made a brisket..my local shoprite sells smaller cut briskets 3 pounds and under.
