Is it time to get out brehs? :lupe:

I got in at around $29...thinking it might be time to take my ball home. Don't know what the fukk these guys are thinking. Classic Micro$oft. I decided to get into the stock in part because of how well executed their Xbox/entertainment strategy was going w/ the 360...thinking now may be a good time to get out. I've got an order set to sell at $32, but I'm thinking fukk that at this point. Xbox ONE is looking like a b-school/marketing epic failure case study in the making...and this is coming from an Xbox stan. I thought they were gonna checkmate Sony... :TO:. They let them back in the game.

Anyway...whatchu think brehs?

i really hope your not basing the whole stock on just the gaming division. How are their dividends like? As a long term bet they won't go bankrupt anytime soon but i don't think your going to see some massive growth out of no where for microsoft but i haven't done any valuation research on microsoft,

if you want to be safe just get a vanguard etf total market fund and keep it in long put in any extra cash surplus in it once a year, your not likely to beat the 9% a year the market yields long term anyway. People who get paid a lot to manage hedge fund portfolios don't beat the market consistently and these guys are cfa level 3's with phd's in financial engineering

only speculate with money that you can afford to lose whats your portfolio looking like?

yea it's pretty stagnant but it's showing incremental growth. MS is still growing as a company but its not something that will pay huge dividends . it's a longtime asset for me personally.

the future for Azure and Office365 is promising

I bought it like 5 years ago and its a long term asset for me. Dividends aren't great, but it shown steady growth and should continue. As slystallion said don't base your decision based on the console flame wars. Microsoft is more than just the xbox.

I'm not, but I'm of the opinion that strength in the entertainment division (which was really how I was looking at it--entertainment vs just gaming...being the MSFT being the center of the living room) helps their strategy of getting Windows into tablets & phones.

Also, I'm maxed out on my 401k contribution and it's in a Vanguard fund. Not to be a dikk, but I'm not a novice. My portfolio is mostly tech, big data/analytics, some very spec biotech, and some consumer durable goods. I've beaten the market over the last 3 years just off the strategy of knowing my companies, their strategies, & doing research based on the questions the CEOs/CFOs field in analysts calls. That said, my non-401k investment isn't huge.
