This is the only site I post on and frequent regularly now.

I still go bodybuilding.com here and there because I'm a fan of the sport but I pay little attention to the misc, between arguing with cacs and c00ns that shyt got old but the rest of the site outside of the misc is very informative and modded heavily against nonsense

I lurk other popular sites here and there to get a feel of other people's mindsets about various issues or topics since in real life all most of these fakkits are gonna do is smile in your face and kiss your ass.

I stopped going to the misc for a number of reasons.

-Subtle racism.
-Bunch of virgin cacs who get no p*ssy and ask why their muscles ain't getting them girls.
-Lames all around that think abusing the word "phaggot" is funny.
-They care about your pockets and if you are balling will try to discredit you.

fukk that website.

I gave up on them message boards.

I only post here and Facebook.

On Facebook, you at least have a fighting chance arguing and getting support from other black people.
:francis:

I deleted my facebook after so-called white "friends" exposed themselves with racist views and status updates. The last time I made an update was almost two years ago before I deleted it. Facebook has just gotten really racist now TBH, it's like a damn white racist circle jerk complete with asians, hispanics, and indians hating on blacks and sucking up to white people who hate their guts in hopes to be "accepted".

fukk them and Mark Zuckerberg. He's a thief anyways that stole the idea from someone else.

Oh yeah....this post in particular is going to a post I saw by @Bomberman about this issue. You suggested that blacks just flood predominantly white forums to combat racism on those sites and I absolutely 100% disagree. There's enough negative transgressions going on in the average black person's life...why should they just go online to a place where they face those same negative transgressions that are amplified by 20 when racists whites have the veil of anonymity on their side? And another thing...fukk that notion, we should be building up strong black websites with predominantly black userbases so we got places we can go to where we can relate to one another...instead of trying to fit into a dominant class we can't fit into.

Then again, I only go here, hypebeast, and tumblr...and The Bones Of Houdini (my blog that's been around since 2011...shameless plug...had to put that in there). Racism on tumblr really isn't tolerated like that. hell, I made a comment on this disgusting white girl's site who makes all sorts of racist, classist, and disgusting comments altogether and commented that "I hope she gets punched in the face". Not even anonymous cause I don't hide for shyt. What happened? I actually gained followers after that.

I dont' mess with predominantly white anything anymore. Stop thinking that you'll fit in as a black person in anything like that. Like I don't fukk with TV or Movies cause the vast majority of it is catered to whites and I can't relate to it. Racist? I know white people think the same about black entertainment. My observations about race, racism, whiteness, white racism, white supremacy, and white privilege come from my upbringing as a first gen black african west indian American living in America...you see things eventually that make you question if you even want to participate in this society due to how unapologetically Eurocentric it is. And how anti-black it is by nature.

After the Zimmerman trial, I stopped altogether. The white supremacists and closet white supremacists showed their true colors after that event.
Yeah I gave up on all forms of social media, not known as the coli, after that verdict.

Currently anyone on fb or any other platform, that don't how to get at me; don't need to get at me.

This includes "friends", family, classmates, "associates",etc....

No I don't necessarily mean flooding the websites to combat racism, people are people and they'll think what they think. We can't control that, if you think about it we can't control how we think either. I've said it before, my motto is "Live and let live," at least I try to apply that whenever I can.

However, I do think that avoiding sites just because they're predominantly white may help prevent you from getting a lot out of this limited time. Not all sites, but certain one can be very beneficial to you. Let's take a site like reddit. Millions of people of all races go through that site, and from my perception of it, it seems most people there are white. Interacting with them about social issues even just reading some of their posts gives me a headache sometimes, so I rarely do nor do I care for their opinions. That's also not to say that a lot of them are not open-minded either. Plenty of folks there call things non-biased. An example of this was the overwhelming logical and empathetic responses in the Charleston shooting discussion.

For instance here's one of the top posts on that site today:
http://www.reddit.com/r/news/commen...val_of_confederate/?ref=share&ref_source=link
But people aren't all stupid and they do get it:
This is a great start, however I'm afraid this is where it will end. I see this flag hunt as sacrificial lamb so they don't have to address real problems that lead us to where we are now.

That being said, avoiding that site all together, you're missing out on a ton of professionals giving advice and helping members of that site or just people passing through. They'll help you if you ask for it. Even if you have an issue that's specific to you, even as a Black male, chances are there's going to be someone to help you out if you explain your situation to them. But nobody can help you if you don't say anything, and you don't let your issue be known genuinely.

Here's what you miss out (not saying you can't get it on other sites or through life in general) when you go to reddit:
  • 110,000+ people talking about personal finance. shyt like how to get your life together. Plenty of them are financial and life planning specialists. Now you have some cats here that'll help you with things as well, but you have places on reddit that are going to be specific. That just just one subreddit(sub forum).
  • A place like lifeprotips where you learn all types of things that can help make your everyday life easier.
  • AskMeAnything has celebrities and professionals of all forms stop by all the time to answer questions. Some of them are there for hours just hanging out with cats. If you're a songwriter/musician and/or singer that has a question, who better to ask than John Legend next week? RZA just did one recently as well. Lady Gaga had one earlier in this year that I thought changed my life in some ways, De La Soul stopped by recently, Mike Tyson answered an aspiring boxer's question specifically about how to throw a proper 1-2, Neil DeGrasse Tyson has done a few of them, Barack Obama has the highest rated one of all-time, Bill Gates also has done numerous ones, etc. Some of the most successful people in their crafts, world renown can help you with your specific question.
  • I used to be more of a thinker/philosopher type, going to subreddits like GetMotivated, SelfImprovement, UpliftingNews, etc. helped turn me more action-oriented.
  • shyt, even musically I've grown a ton partly thanks to reddit. Last week I got a spotify playlist from somebody who asked a question on the Music subreddit about what songs in the last 2 years have an 80's feel to them. Posters responded and the cat made a spotify playlist from the songs suggested. Been :mj: ever since.
  • The enlightenment and meditation forums have helped me grow a ton as well.
  • Have math, science, engineering, etc. questions? They have some of the brightest minds and students studying under them on that site helping people out with their homework and questions. Answers to differential equations sees no color lines.
That's not even cracking the shell of what a site like reddit can offer. It's highly popular/mainstream and highly organized also highly customizable.

You can even make your own reddit front page by only selecting the subreddits(subforms) you choose to view. Kind of like your own personal web site. You don't have to deal with all the bs. More of the good, less of the bad.

Why miss out on this opportunity for yourself, just because of a mixed demographic? The earth is mixed anyway. Besides, I see plenty of cats all over the internet steal material that came from there, even this site has posted a few things from reddit.

Thank you...but fukk reddit. I refuse to support that site. I'm just personally uncomfortable anymore in very white situations and in increasingly eurocentric/white online venues.

And honestly, I used to browse TONS of websites back in the day...but around the time McCain vs Obama was on and the racism was on fleek...I started to phase out most of those sites.

The turning point was when I used to post on a depression board when I took a hiatus from SOHH...even though people were suffering from depression and I thought it would be a great place to gain support for that...I was the only black person on ther and I had all of these white posters on that site...talk so vehemently about their deprssion on one side and say borderline racist crap to me on the otehr and basically pitied me for being black. It was terrible. I just stopped posting there.

It's even to the point now where, when I'm looking for sites on google just to read articles, if it has white authors or even white people in the clip art or stock photos I just straight up close the window.

I ain't playing with that shyt no more. My internet experience is limited to less than 10 sites anymore. Just seeing the millions upon millions of websites by and for white people (but supposedly for everyone) just noids me out dude...you can't get awy from them or their bullshyt. Yeah...call me salty. I'm just sick of alot of people's bullshyt nowadays.

I hear you man, I mainly agree.

I'm on this website 90% of the time when it comes to forum posting things. Matter of fact, if I see something very interesting on reddit I'll read maybe 5 comments on it, then bring it to this forum and see what the breeds have to say about it. I've slowed down with that lately though. That's even with my custom front page to not include subreddits where that kind of often prejudice bias is noticeable. That subtle shyt pisses me off.

Speaking of depression, one white author who I can recommend is anything by Brene Brown. I remember she had a seminar full of white folks who love her books, and she aired white folks out about being privileged that they have the world given to them compared to other races. She knows plenty of empathy. Mainly her last two books, Daring Greatly and The Gifts of Imperfection I'd recommend to anyone. Also Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It by Kamal Ravikan. That book really helped me a ton with my depression tendencies.
