Tore mine and got the operation.

Ran a 5k 3 months later. Was able to play basketball 9 months later. 12 months I was running and jumping at 100% with 0 fear (which is the biggest issue honestly).

I would definitely get the surgery. Even if it 'heals' using the nonsurgical method, your odds of reinjuring yourself go up exponentially.
Was it a partial tear?

I tore mine playing. I Had broken my nose, fractured my wrist, broken two fingers. Figured the torn Achilles was the universe trying to tell me its time to hang it up permanently
:picard:
yeah… one thing I’ve changed is I don’t jump in the vicinity of other feet and I’m selective with how I try to get rebounds. I used to land on other folks feet a lot when I was younger. Dont feel like experiencing that agony now lol

Be very careful breh. I tore mine still thinking I was 20 something years old. I’m 40

your muscles and tendons are NOT the same
Big facts. Ive been working out/lifting a while prior to hooping again, but I should probably stretch better tho.

Tore it early this summer. 2 months in was walking with a boot ,month later without a boot. Probably could’ve done it earlier but I was being extra safe .

Started jumping again and doing agility ladder drills this week .

Telling them to put me in surgery was the best decision for me.I’ve only had Achilles pain for a week after surgery ..after that it’s been nothing.Just weakness and atrophy.

Yeah when the surgeon told me the non-operative route means I’m basically waking around with a time-bomb if everything don’t go right I told dude slice me up immediately.. screw that

Yeah man it was rough at first but I was able to walk but with a serious limp. Its crazy how the body works because the day before I was 100% I still had a minor limp and the next day I was completely fine

Yeah, I bashed my knee with my tennis racket on the follow-through of a serve when I was like 13. Major pain whenever I put weight on my knee (probably a PCL tear), so I limped for two weeks (my Dad refused to take me to the doctor as he was a skeptic of the medical establishment :hhh:), literally on day 15 the pain was gone and I could walk normally. shyt was so weird. No gradual build-up whatsoever.

tore my MCL. they "thought" I may have torn my ACL and I got put under anesthesia cause I was apparently "fighting it" when they were trying to test.
I didn't tear my ACL and in retrospect... I think they just wanted to bill my folks :patrice: :leostare:

I basically did the same thing that you did but my Achilles never hurt me again nor did I have a limp. Idk if you are but I've always been very active (played probably overseas and stayed in the gym) so that may have helped me a bit

Never had achillies issue.

Posted a thread in the gym

Longshot: Toe numbness (Resolved)

I run 10k everyday. While doing other workouts.

Long story short was doing heavy squat. Pinched a nerve in my back, it fukked my toe up, lost feeling, could barely walk let alone run. This was a week before I had to race in two events one on Saturday and one on sunday.

Couldn't risk it, went to a foot and ankle specialist he was talking about stress fracture or nerve damage. Put me in a prosthetic, told me if it dont get better they'll x-ray and do a steroid injection for nerve inflammation and shyt....

Was doing everything possible, stretching, rolling, percussion massage, ice, heat, ibuprofen, tens machine, Tiger balm/biofreeze.

Keep in mind I paid to enter these races, like 2 months ahead of time so there was no just not going....I went to a chiropractor she evaluated my foot and was like, I think it's fine but the problem might be your back. Broad popped my back, I instantly felt better. Ran my two races and have been running since. I got some of the feeling back in my toe but I'm pain free able to live again.

Those 5 days I couldn't run I was for real :mjcry:

What symptoms did you guys have after?

Over a year after surgery Still favor my good leg when landing after jumping ..vertical pop still not 100% there either .Calf tighter ..doesn’t have that same bend but that was done on purpose ..No pain at all though

Straight line speed is probably the best it’s ever been .Was clocked at 18.5 mph .Change of direction isn’t a problem at all either
