To give you a little background, a few months ago I finished that Google/Coursera UX design course. I enrolled in the course initially just as something to do, but I found that I really enjoyed doing it.

After finishing the program, I got a part time entry level position in UX design(I'm a CPA as my full time job).

What else should I learn as I continue to advance in UX design? Should I learn some coding?(HTML/CSS)

Reps for any advice :myman:
Thinking about enrolling in Coursera's UX course after the Cybersecurity one.
How did you get the PT job? Could you have gotten a FT from the course itself?

If you can take a General Assembly bootcamp, that would be your best bet.

My wife did a BootCamp last year and got into a high-paying UX job.

yea...those guarantee you a gig but cost a grip ($10K plus you must attend FT; lower pay they do not assist with placement)

My question was more geared toward your assignments and journey to your PT gig

Hey…I’m trying to be like your wife :wow:Congrats to her!

Did she have any experience in the field at all prior to the bootcamp, or did she go from no experience to new career?

I want to do a UX/UI bootcamp this year, but I want to make sure I’ll actually be prepared to walk into a new career.

She liking it
works at a Fortune 500 company, but she works hard and really smart. She likes her job a lot.
That’s amazing. Glad to hear the bootcamp route worked out! That gives me some confidence moving forward.

Not trying to pry- last question if it’s ok: did she actually go with General Assembly or a diff bootcamp?
