I got a squirrel today, he (she) was chasing a turkey in my backyard. Ive never seen a squirrel and turkey go at it but they are both territorial. Anyway. I shot it down from my tree. .22 caliber air rifle shot through the shoulder through the lungs and out the cheek. I filmed the field dressing. I decided not to cut through the reproductive organs because im not going to eat it, but I paused it and cut out a really good chunk of removing the pelt. Then I wash it, and now I have it soaking in some solution that'll dry off the fat, i'll scrap it off, wash it again then stretch it out and then I can make something with the fur.
Watch the videos on 2x, theres no talking just the sounds of nature, and a fukking dog barking for like 20 mins.

You ever hunt deer breh?

Any tips on that?

I feel like deer is an underrated type of red meat :wow: if more brehs would get into hunting or be interested in it I feel like they would healthier sources of food like deer

Can’t beat the 30 odd Six (.30-60) for deer hunting. That shyt can take down pretty much anything you would run across in the woods. Really any 30 series rifle would work.

I've been more than a few times.

I've been in a tree stand and a blind.

I don't know enough about deer hunting to go alone nor do I have an atv or truck to carry a carcass. I could field dress it and bring back what I want to process or eat but I just don't have the experience, time, location to do it.

I know how to stalk deer, find their watering places, resting places etc. You gotta be careful not to disturb that too much otherwise they'll relocate and you can mess up the ecosystem. They usually have more than a couple places.

The patience is something I've learned from small game. When the shot is yours, it's yours.

There are plenty of times you have a shot for just a few seconds. Some people will say to seize the opportunity. I say just chill, when the shot is yours you don't have to rush, you don't have to seize a quick 3 second shot.

It's one thing to get a bad shot on a squirrel, rabbit, Turkey, racc00n,possum, Beaver etc, but a bad shot on a deer might fukk you up. Don't get me wrong you don't want any animal to suffer but a deer with a leg shot or not vital or incapacitated just waiting/needing you to take that final shot is not the wave. That hasnt happened to me, but I've made the errors on smaller game and been fortunate enough to rectify them.

pick it up breh. It doesn't cost much to start like fishing and its fun to do target practice. My only problem is that I'm left handed and need to get a good left handed bow which will cost a lil more
I know how to shoot a bow. I have a child's bow as well as several foam targets in my garage right now.

I've just never gotten into getting hunting tips for a bow and going out in the woods and shyt.

I think it's cool. I've just never done it.
