If you've ever made a will or helped an older relative make a will, how did you go about it and who did you go through? Supposedly you can do it all online and there may be options to even do it without a lawyer. This would be a basic will such as I want all money and any assets divided evenly amongst these specific children and I want to be cremated. I don't think it's as simple as writing it on a piece of paper and signing it in front of a notary public, right?

You typically need witnesses to sign for it. Depending on where you live, marriage can invalidate it.

Speak to a lawyer. You will be doing yourself and your loved ones a favour.

I think it can be that simple but you do need the signatures of witnesses. The signature of the notary might even count as a witness, though I'm not sure on that.

Just Google how to do a simple will. Doing a will doesn't involve a lot of moving pieces.
