To fully embed IG Reels, open that particular IG page up in an actual web browser instead of opening it in the IG app.
Then filter the posts by clicking on the grid option circled in red
Find the post you are trying to embed on The Coli. In this case it is the one I have circled in red
Then, click ONCE in your web browser’s address field, circled in red
It will become fully highlighted in blue as shown below
Copy the highlighted link by whatever means your model phone will allow, come back to the Coli, press the media symbol circled in red, and paste the link.
Then click “Embed” and you’re finished
These same exact steps also work for “Facebook Reels” and “YouTube Shorts” as well, two other types of links that act stupid when you try to embed them straight from the app.

You gotta start hitting pillows at age 3, trash bags full of leaves at 6, regular bags by 8......keep hitting regular bags and a mix of sparring partners and opponents for the next 30 years.
How do the YouTube shorts work? I'm pissed. I have a few videos that YouTube converted to "shorts".

Breh, you literally quoted me explicitly saying that the same exact steps apply to YT Shorts as well
it’s a little more annoying going to the uploader’s page on YouTube because of how the videos are listed but, do that 
find the vid that you want to post on the Coli, click on it, click in that web page’s address field(which should then highlight the address in blue) copy the address, then come back here and paste it. 
I just tried it with this YT Short and it works the same as the IG and FB steps.
