Oh not necessary at all. Personality can take you just as far as skill at the game can. A lot of top content creators aren't the best at the games they are playing.

That's correct. Have a catchphrase or defining charisma in your profile that defines your username.

Personally, I would build my base audience on YouTube with longer videos of say 10 minutes, and then expand on Facebook with snippet 2-3 minute video clips of these same videos to entice FB users to subscribe to your YouTube channel to watch the whole thing. From there they will encounter your other videos.
