Things like this really aren't fun or taken seriously if you're not invested in it. I'd rather just gamble on games.

Fantasy is about who you're playing with.

I'm in a highly competitive (ton of trades) $200 league with 11 other friends and it's an experience we look forward to every year. We even use it as an excuse to get together and have a cookout or something during the draft. We can rarely see each other with everyone having crazy work schedules and living in different cities. A lot of my friends are former D-1 football players......I can't imagine playing in any other league to be honest.

i quit a few years ago. i'd always finish 2nd or 3rd & felt completely unfulfilled like i had wasted a tremendous amount of time. plus i found myself rooting extra hard for bum ass players like Duce Staley or Jerry Porter.

i'm gonna do it, but i was fukkin so close to never playing again after getting fukked over by the football gods for the 2nd time in the playoffs in a pay league with my close friends, this time in the title game.

the way i lost was so fukkin gay that I had to stop talking/thinking about fantasy sports for a minute just to cope.

I haven't played fantasy football for at least five years or so now. Best decision I've made for making Sunday football enjoyable. I can't have fantasy fukkery and Dallas Cowboys fukkery on the same day. I'd die prematurely.

This will be year 3 I think of not playing, and I don't miss it one bit. I was a long-time player also, and just didn't have a desire to do it anymore, so I stopped. No regrets at all.

same here. been playing since Marcel Shipp was somebody comteplating drafting late in the draft in 2003 :old:

I didn't play last year and it really was nice to enjoy the game w/o worrying about players on teams i don't care for

This is true. It's all about the players. When it's people you know and the shyt talking lasts throughout the year. :wow: The live draft either at someone's house or a bar/restaurant. :banderas: The competition. :whew:. nikkas in my one league are fukking ruthless. :heh:

I don't know what people are talking about in terms of the commitment. You hang out with your boys for a few hours, drinking, eating, talking shyt for the draft. Then each week you check the waiver wire and make sure your roster is set before Sunday (Thursday now). We are talking what...maybe 15 minutes-20 minutes a week per league? Only issues I ever have with fantasy are people being on that bullshyt (not paying, not keeping up with their roster) and once again that comes back to who you are playing with.
