family member of Coli poster dies and gets universal respect
up and coming rapper dies and gets mostly respect with some disses

then we have people like Katt Williams who look they are headed on a path to death and all we get is jokes

all these people are humans though who lived with people who loved them and mourned their death, so what determines whether respect gets shown or not?
