The idea of being anti-vaxx in of itself isn't stupid. However anti-vaxxism tends to attract people who have little to no critical thinking skills and aren't able to devote any time to "do their own research" outside of a few facebook memes and sources that usually lean towards their bias. I also notice how it attracts a lot of individuals who are extremely self centered. These are the types thatvlive in their own illusion of granduer and hyper individualism. They range from popular celebrities like Nicki Minaj and Mayweather to charalatans and snake oil salesmen like Tariq and Boyce.

It's actually the exact opposite. The vax propaganda is being pushed by a narcissistic elite who have stopped even trying to keep up a facade of having a conscience and caring about justice.

All the 'science' behind a mandate being necessary just stems from companies having complete control over what information the masses are exposed to on a daily basis. Science is not monolithic and does not call for a vaccination mandate a la NYC.

Ironically, this thread is evidence of the inverse of your point being true. But you likely won't be able to recognize that due to being uninformed and convinced of your own righteousness.

EDIT: Another thing that is imo characteristic of narcissistic individuals is an infatuation with cryptocoins and its get-rich-quick-by-any-means ethos that is proudly featured in your signature.

The ruling elites definitely have narcissistic tendencies. However you're overlooking just how important maintaining the status quo means to them. For them it means not only having a healthy stock of workers who aren't dropping like flies due to a virus, but also an open economy where we can continue to purchase things. This is a huge reason why the vaccine is so heavily pushed.

Does that mean we shouldn't get the vaccine? Absolutely not. Some of the forces behind anti-vaxx propaganda aren't any less nefarious in their intentions either. In fact, you'll find that the main proponents of anti-vaxxism are vaxxed themselves but pushing this narrative for political purposes. We're just pawns in one big play for power. We can keep this in mind and still keep ourselves and communities healthy by getting the vaccine.

You hint at the fact that companies seek to control what information we're exposed to. You are correct but for the wrong reasons. There is plenty of right wing, anti-vaxx, and science denying info out there. It gave us the rise of Trump, the far-right, and Jan 6th. Just look at the controversy behind Facebook. These companies want to profit first and foremost. If it means propagating material that plays to people's worst instincts then so be it. On Facebook I can probably find plently of memes about how COVID is fake and vaccines are a depopulation scheme. However I'd probably be far less likely to find info that exposes how greedy these pharmaceutical companies are and the fact that they're deliberately keeping poor countries from getting a vaccine for profit.
Why? Because that story is less sexy and sensational.
