I noticed that a lot of non blacks are not taking this holiday seriously even though it is a legit federal holiday. Usually non black folks love a 3 day weekend when it suits them. Some I know are mad they have to take a mandatory day off.

i wasn't sure how busy things would be because this is the first official holiday in my state. I figured i'd play it by ear, and if the office seems dead all day, like our vendors and customers are all really taking time off and doing stuff instead of business with us then i will send everyone home early and next year just make it a paid holiday.

Old white woman in my office was being weird, “So what are you doing for the long weekend? Omg you must be traveling for a quick getaway”? I looked at her like “No”.
Didn’t ask that shyt on Memorial Day weened and that IS the weekend for a quick getaway.
