I only fukk with Life Aquatic, Bottle Rocket, and Rushmore.... The rest of Wes Anderson's movies kind of suck to me :manny:

yep, and i didnt like Bottle Rocket either. he either hits or he takes a huge swing and misses badly

Royal Tennenbaums had one of the greatest casts you could put together for a comedy, and all i waited for for over an hour was a funny patch. just awful

Saw it today. I'll give it a B+. Haven't seen his other movies so I can't compare it. The camera angles, cinematography are a A+. And let put a no Frank Ocean /no homo in front of this. But the colors in this movie are so dope. How everything match up. This might sound silly but there is a scene where the main character's dad suit coat match the walls in the background. And it's little stuff like that is dope to me.

Acting-Now, when it comes to the known actors, to me, Norton shined the most. John McClaine and Bill Murray were good but I enjoyed Norton acting the most. The main little boy was good as well. Very likeable. The problem with this movie is the main little girl. Most of the characters in here are monotone on purpose which is fine. But her acting is just not. Most of the other supporting actors are good.

Story wise-slow at part but flows for the most part.

Negatives- (Warning contains spoilers) Sexualizing of kids. The 2 main characters are 12 year olds (not sure of their real ages in real life.) The way the little girl dressed was kinda iffy. But they took it to a whole new level. Mad pedo. Why you would 2 little talk sexually to each was too much. To me, they just went way to far with sexual touching, her "undressing". If these were older teens, I could by it. But playing the part of pre-teens.

Overall: Yeah, it was a typical Hollywood ending but it works. There is enough depth to the story and good to great acting to make it worth seeing at the show. Nice kids love story. But they just needed to cut out the "adult" activity. with the kids. One scene just went to far to me.

Man I couldn't get past the first 20 min. It was just boring. I didn't delete it though so I might give it another chance later. :ld:

I think Life Aquatic is all of Wes Anderson's weaknesses wrapped up in one movie. It's way too quirky, to the point where the characters are completely unrelatable. The Fantastic Mr. Fox is my favorite Wes Anderson flick.

I liked Moonrise Kingdom a lot though. Maybe my 3rd favorite WA film behind FMF and Rushmore. The kids were great actors, especially the girl.

Yeah I think I like it so much because it was the movie that introduced me to Wes and his style of cinema... I like it's soundtrack and the Seu Jorge acoustic soundtrack. Bill Murray killed it. It is funny because my 3 favorite Wes Films are arguably his worst.

I have never seen the fantasic Mr Fox though...

Saw it and thought it was ok. I thought the main kid was really good, I agree with dude said it went too far with the adult stuff. The colors and transitions were great and on par with all of WA's stuff. My favorite Wes flicks are Bottle Rocket, Darjeeling Limited, and Fantastic Mr Fox, I could watch those all day. Never seen LASZ, I thought the Tenenbaums tried to be too stylistic without really going anywhere. Shame cuz I loved that cast, if it were really good Stiller Paltrow and Hackman would've stuck around for more :sadcam: Instead Bruce Willis and Harvey Keitel are creeping into the fold :sadcam:
