I need life advice, I'm very very depressed. I need serious help or just someone around me who can help. The thing is I don't know if a psychiatrist is really going to help me with my issues, I'm not well and constantly angry and depressed about my life.
My parents want me to seek professional help but honestly my issues are so severe and depressing I don't know if it's going to help.
I really need young people to really guide me but most nikkas ain't built like that, I really need a mentor or role model who can talk to me and guide me when I have questions.
So has a psychiatrist helped anyone? I really don't think it's gonna help me.
We're typically not trained to mentor or to guide, our job is to probe and collect clues from your mind (mental state) by observation, conversational analysis and if needed..by testing levels of certain things in your body so that we can zero in on the issue, diagnose and then remedy.
You may find someone who is trained additionally in psychotherapy which teaches a more "cosy and bed side like" manner in dealing with patients but don't go expecting an in-depth and sincere connection with quacks. You might want to visit a therapist first, depending on their judgement they may then refer you to a psych if they feel your issues are beyond their skills.

drugs aren't the answer ma'am.....
