If you got good credit the discount on insurance for multiple cars is worth it. How do both of you get to work? Also having a spare vehicle if something goes wrong with one is also worth it. Having only one car in most of the States means you're almost broke. Even the bikers have vehicles.

If you live in a megalopolis and don't have to commute, your mileage will vary, though.

Exactly. Don't do it. If you're in an argument and you want to leave, TRUST ME you will get hit with the 'You're not leaving in my car' or something to that verbiage. When we're emotional, we're petty, you're right. Don't say you weren't warned

my sister and her husband share a whip. then again, when she was single she got rid of her car years ago because she lived in an area that was not car friendly and public transportation and biking lanes were everywhere.

that being said, my sister pregnant with her 2nd kid now, and I know my brother in law drives to work. so I don't know if she takes the bus or what. they are gonna be hard pressed with 1 car and 2 kids under 2 years old and two dogs
