All this was new material for me. I learned a lot in the network layer model course. It was challenging, but worth it
I have a job now, one that pays well. However I was looking for something to diversify my resume.
What would be your next step ( ie courses or programs)after completing this course?
Figure out what you want to do in IT. Front end, Back end, DevOps, etc. and work towards getting the certifications for it. I made a thread last year I think with free coursework and training videos in JBO.
If you don't know what you wanna do, that might help.

I got accepted into "grow with google" program. They gave out like 50K scholarships worldwide and I got one. I'm a full time developer already so it's easy to me. I applied because some people from this cohort will get scholarships to the more expensive 6 month course that's like $500+ I believe and that covers things I don't know like Android.
I'm on the 3rd module right now of the Google Course IT program right now. I hope to be finished with the program by June.
I've also been taking CompTIA A+ classes at my local community college since the spring semester started & this week is the last week of the classes. I plan to take the A+ 901 exam in 2 weeks & the A+ 902 exam 2 weeks after.
I also am going to start working on the CompTIA Network+ cert later this week. My goal is to take the Network+ exam the first week of June.
So I'm having a busy April this Month:
1. Study for & take A+ exams
2. Watching video courses & doing labs for Network+
3. Continue with Google Coursea IT Support program.
I expect to have my pick of entry-level IT jobs, when I start seriously looking for jobs in June.
LOL. That 2nd module in the Google Coursea program (The Networking module) is where they weed out the folks who like talking about getting into IT from the people who are serious about IT.

If i were you I would skip the A+ and go straight for the Net and Sec certs first. Thats pretty much what I should have done considering most entry level IT jobs teach you almost everything you need to know and most computer literate people do fine without the extra knowledge.
I went A+ > Net+ > Sec+ > CCNA in less than a year. Went straight from entry level help desk with no certs to Jr. Sys Admin. Im moving up to Sr. Sys Admin in June when my boss retires. Went from making 16 or so an hour to around 53k now. Will be making 60k in June. Plan to stay here to get enough experience to take the CISSP unless I find a gov't contract.
Keep up the work because these certs can really change your life if you immerse yourself in the books.
If i could do it all over again I would have just went straight for the CCNA but I already had networking and security knowledge that most folks just starting out don't have.
A+ still worth it for me because:1. I'm in 1 of those workforce programs, so my A+ vouchers are being paid for.
2. I'm considering getting an IT Bachelor's degree from WGU down the line & all of WGU's IT Bachelor's degree offerings all require the big 3 CompTIA certs as credit towards the degree, so I might as well knock the A+ out early.

Naw, Coursera & another similar website edX.org are different from Udemy. On Udemy, anybody & their mama can put up a course. The courses on Coursea & edX seem to be online courses from real academic institutions.

Ahh I see, makes sense. Yeah I do. the CCNA was pretty difficult even with the 4-6 hours of studying I was putting in 5 days a week. I barely passed part 2 of it, I was sweating bullets in that testing center.
