Anyone Taken A Speech Class In College Before?

Look at it this way you won't see or give a damn about 99.9% of the people in your class after graduation or the semester is over. I had a speech class with a kid back in high school who had a speech impediment and I straight up asked him ain't you nervous and he told me fukk I gotta be nervous for I don't give a damn about any of these muthafukkas. Dude stuttered the shyt out of his speeches but handled it like a champ with no fukks given.

Like op I've bee delaying it too it's also a requirement for me. My first time was a distaster I was so nervous and stumbling over my words. I did have a class last semester where I had to speak in front of class a lot and suprisingly I was very good at it. They were 8 minute speeches too and for speech class I heard the speeches are for 2 minutes so I might survive.

Get rid of your verbal ticks, make sure you can do everything in the alotted time, be organized, and you'll do great.
I got an A, and was barely awake during class because I was waking up at 5:30 and traveling for 2 hours everyday

Yeah I took one. My teacher (black chick) was real cool; she was some off the wall emo that hated george bush. The reason why she hated him because he did not know how to speak. We had to do speaches like an argument speech, persuasive speach and one speach about problems in our child hood.
When you would speak, she would yell at you like "take your hands out of your pants," "speak up I can't here you," and sometimes she would yell "what." It was a good class because it taught you how to present yourself, how to talk to people and other things. You would be surprised at the ammount of people that get scared to talk in front of others.

after a couple weeks everybody in the class you'll be cool with everybody in the class so the presentations wont be too scary
its always best to practice a lot, because a lot of the times you lose focus cuz u get nervous and u go on autopilot. there's a lot of times where i dont remember what i said

I did. I'm pretty good at giving speeches so the class wasn't much of a challenge. The tests were pretty easy too.
As for tips, make sure you know your material really well before your presentation. That way if you get flustered, you can improvise since you'll know the material well enough. It's easier said than done but it's effective.
