i mean jordan gets to practice with jordan every day, and jordan gets to coach jordan on being better...that just makes jordan better....what is messing with that?

I'm not sure about some of your reasoning but I do agree that I personally wouldn't bet the farm on someone with Duncan's skill set. You almost need a near perfect team around him and he can deliver you the goods within that confined system. Outside that, I'm not so sure. A player like Kobe will always be better in my eyes because of his versatility and the size of the court that he can operate with and still be highly impactful; but then again it's different strokes for different folk. Duncan is not the type of player that could receive the ball on the perimeter with 5 seconds left and have expectations that he could somehow rescue your season or deliver you to the promised land

Jacque Vaughan can be on a "near perfect team" :jbhmm:

Devin Brown can be on a "near perfect team" :jbhmm:

Matt Bonner can be on a "near perfect team" :jbhmm:

Francisco Elson can be on a "near perfect team":jbhmm:

Avery Johnson can be on a "near perfect team" :jbhmm:

A guy with 5 rings can't "deliver you to the promise land" :jbhmm:

Please...tell me more :jbhmm:

Pretty sure that basketball is a team sport, and If I was starting a team, Id take duncan. Pretty sure its more legendary big man with rings than guard lead teams.

The only reason people saying that is because of the last 2 years, everyone and their mama agreed that Kobe was better in 2013.

How was he better? That year, Duncan was all nba first team, all nba defensive team, allstar and led his team to the finals. while being 2 years older than kobe and with the better record. Duncan was the best on that spurs team coming from someone who watched all their games.

Wow one year, so long.

nikka foh, no one in real life say Duncan is better than Kobe and I live in Texas

hahaha everyone hates the spurs outside of san Antonio/austin. Especially in the Houston or dallas areas. so of course other cities are going to hate. I know a rocket fan who always used to say Duncan wasn't even top 50. I asked why he thought that and he said cause he hates that man :pachaha:

Great coach; roster, and wasn't the undisputed best player on his team. We'd probably be having a different discussion if D'Antoni didn't run Kobe in the ground.

Duncan was always most important to the team because he was the anchor on both sides. His scoring went down in recent years because hes taking less shots every year but his rebounding, smarts, leadership and defense remain. He was the best player on the team as recent as last years playoffs. Ill give it to u for this year, at 39/40 he is now replaced by kawhi and Aldridge for the best player on the team. :lolbron:

you insane, duncan is a system player.Kobe is the system

anyone who says this just started watching him the last 3 or 4 years. discounting 15 years before that when the spurs played inside out. It was dump the ball into Duncan and watch him score on a double or pass it out to the open man. He was an mvp candidate as early as 1998. pop developed a system when Duncan started to slow down the last 4 years.

How is a PF going to be better than a guard. Tim cant even dribble for fukk sakes. Tim can bring the ball up.

If it was 5 kobes vs 5 tims who would win? Think about that for a second. A guard will ALWAYS be greater than a big man because being a great guard is that much harder.
