So, going by the Wilt to Shaq timeline, we're another 10-15 years away from another legitimate 7 footer coming around with their kind of gifts :sadcam:

It would be nice to see someone that big and that dominant again but I think that day has passed. The closest we got now is Dwight and he is nowhere near as big or dominant as those two. Who knows though? There may be a 7'1 300 pound kid somewhere one day who actually wants to play like a big man.

Both of them are 7'1" and some change without shoes, and north of 300lbs, while also being coordinated.

It seems like there's a 30 year gap between when someone that big surfaces while also being coordinated and much more agile than they should be. There's no doubt in my mind someone with similar physical traits appears, and they will play big because what else will they do? It just boils down to a matter of when, for all we know that person could be in grade school right now :manny:

Bynum is actually the closest, he was 7'0 3/4th without shoes at the age of 17, just not as mobile as either of them because of his chronically bad knees. His first knee surgery was in middle school, he may have been the one if it weren't for those crappy knees.

No doubt but when you got guys who would rather be KG than Shaq I find it hard to believe that it will happen again at least anytime soon. Even Bynum wanted to flirt with having a perimeter game a couple years ago. But I place the blame on these coaches for telling these big men that they need a reliable mid-range jumper. When you are over 7 feet tall and 300 pounds all im telling you is to stay in the paint. And the first 15 foot jumper you take i'm yanking you out.
