no…I used to hate on a lot of west coast music early on tho…when I went away to college met a lot of folks from all over tho (west, midwest, south) and gained a “healthy” respect for music, culture, etc. from different regions…so when the south emerged on a national level I was very receptive to the music

I’m only into the older ones

Geto boys
OutKast
Goodie Mob
UGK
Eightball and MJG
Original Cash Money before the breakup
No Limit up till 2002
Currensy
Jeezy
Jay electronica

I think Camillionaire is a dope freestyler

All these new southern rappers are just trash

Noticed they all came BEFORE Gucci Mane and his short bus minstrel show of his followers that degraded the QUALITY of music, to the point where it sounds like techno with heavier drums and bass. Now in the end of 2023, it ain't even the #1 genre of the youth anymore. Give thanks to the shyt quality of music of the last 17 years that brought us to this point.

It ain't even the southern accent, its the CULTURAL NORMS like excess tricking of hoes, fake asses, strip club culture that gave bum hoes a voice, throwing shade at lyrical cats like J Cole and Jay Electronica from the same region, and becoming everything that they hated the East Coast like some hypocrites.
