-spent like 3 minutes on Big Pun
-spent 30 seconds on 50 Cent beef.

Unsung just means underappreciated in this context, would say Joe is, he's got a great discography and has been part of a lot of history and sometimes doesn't get his due.

i dont understand this Unsung shyt... i mean how is a platinum selling artist Unsung? i get that Fat Joe isnt a musical icon or anything...but if anything Joe has hideously exceeded all expectations to this point.

The definition of groups that were Unsung were like Freddie Jackson or The Spinners. They were never huge crossover mainstream legends like say The Temptations or Luther Vandross, but they both had several song chart #1 on whatever the black charts of the day were. Troop was another good example. Contemporaries of New Edition that never got the crossover success of New Edition but were constantly charting top 10 on the R&B charts during New Edition's prime with a few #1 hits. Its harder to do hip-hop because this type of success is almost unheard of since the mid-90s in hip-hop because it has crossed over more than r&b did in the 70s, 80s and 90s. More of a chance for rappers before that time.

If I was an artist I would be lowkey disrespected they basically saying that nobody really respects you. Fat Joe ain't unsung either he just had a hit single last year, which is better than most rappers who are poppin today.

Fat joe is unsung.

he has been in the game since the early 90's, and people just treat him like he is a regular rapper. Yeah, he has hits, but people don't treat him the way he needs to be. He is rarely mentioned when people talk about the list of rappers who stayed the test of time.
