Industry creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay are taking inspiration from Tony Gilroy for the upcoming fourth season of the HBO series.

“We want to write a corporate thriller,” Down teased to an audience during a Deadline x HBO FYC event at The Times Center in New York City on Wednesday night. He said they’re looking to Gilroy’s Michael Clayton for guidance, joking that he “felt quite bad” meeting the director recently and admitting their plan, “when he directed and wrote the greatest corporate thriller of all time.”

As for whether their version will stack up, Down added: “You have to tell us in … not that long, actually, because we’re doing it very quickly this time.”

Watching all of it in one week must be a fukking rush lol

it's one of the most intense shows I have seen. Way more than Succession, which I also think is perfect. Industry may be less perfect, but stronger to me in some ways. A lot of Succession is satire, and Industry is a lot more raw. After a few months Season 3 could be the best season of television I have ever seen.

I watched the first season in a few days in November 2022, and then had to slow walk S2.

But the way TV exists now is so much different. People say oh the third season of whatever is where it gets good. Industry has always been good, but the third is where is reaches it's highest level.

People binge watch shows just to post about it, binge watch just to get done and say it was mid. Binge watch to keep up with social media convo. Binge watch so they can get the memes, so they can make the memes. Binge watch just to say what else is there to watch?

Yeah, was telling some coworkers about the show a couple weeks ago, the first two seasons were good, it was a cool show, third season it became elite.

I thought the way they ended 3rd season was wack with the rishi uncut gems shyt. Totally never happening like that. They just wanted to make a moment. First 2 seasons imo were better.

Plus the boat stuff sucked

So idk what people sayin bout season 3. First 2 are better. Everything just came to a head in 3 and stakes were higher but the development was set by 2.
