I think the lack of emmy noms is due to the first season of the show. Folks got an impression of the show and it stuck and it's gonna take another high quality season to shake that first impression. It could also end up like The Wire where they never get the recognition.

I think last season it moved into that elite space, it started getting a lot of love critically.
I expect it to get a big push from HBO next season. They're lacking in tentpole stuff right now, Last of Us Season 2 wasn't as good. White Lotus is probably gone for a couple years, HOTD is back next year I think.
