Good, I'm not even a Harper fan like that, you can feel the racism when she is being discussed.
We have to remember the source. They showed us that Whitney had access to creating fake passports of people. And then show made a point to let us know that Whitney used the girls from the service to blackmail people.
I think the way it was shot showing Henry’s two passports was twofold. One, to trigger his outburst showing who he is and the random person Whitney wants him assume. But more importantly to how it was shot photography wise, it was to show that fabricated passports are a tool for Whit for his own gains.
Eric found the girl through the hotel which uses the same service Whit does so there’s no reason to assume that he knew she was underage. Especially since she stays in the same upscale hotel that He and Harper live in. But we the viewer finds out in one scene that Whit fakes passports and the very next scene with Yas and Harper that the girl Whit used to blackmail Eric by seeing her passport in previous episodes. So to me it not only says Eric didn’t know, but it’s possible she isn’t underage and Whit created a fake passport to make her underaged to blackmail him. Could be either but both clears Eric with intentional pedo claims.
The issue Eric DOES have is that he does not know how to love the women in his life that he should love. That’s what that conversation with Harper was about on the bed when I thought they were about to fukk from trauma bonding. Eric loves Harper but he doesn’t know how to after all their shyt so that’s why the black girl he’s fukking at the start of the season is supposed to be a replacement for Harper in his life but he can fukk her to give and get something out of that relationship.
So when we see the hotel girl is supposed to favor his daughter (I didn’t think she did) it’s after we hear the conversation that he doesn’t get anything from his relationship with his daughters that he should. Doesn’t feel love and doesn’t give it…so like the Harper replacement girl, he finds a woman to replace that hole in the relationship with his daughter…that he can fukk. Which is still very fukked up but not in a incest/pedo way.
Which brings us back to his last conversation with Harper and why he was so moved by her panel. What he was looking for in his relationship with people in general but especially his daughters is genuine love and pride in who they are as people. And for him to only feel that for Harper while realizing that the damage his presence will cause her means he can’t even allow himself to be in that moment with her is heartbreaking. He knows he’s also the only person Harper has and will look for him in that moment and him not being able to be there will make her hate him in the way that only she can will devastate him when he just realized how much she means to him is crazy.

Succession gets the nod for me just for being more consistent. Industry has much higher highs though.I enjoy Industry. It’s not touching Succession. I’m not going to debate it either.

The acting on Succession is just a notch above Industry. But I do think this is the best show HBO has right now, better than The Pitt.
