New York is so overhyped. Might I suggest you look into the real estate market in Bikini Bottom?

I thought about it. I have used a manager for my property off and on for about 10 years. They spend a lot of time in court and deal with a lot of politics between tenants and landlords. The standard is 10% of rents as payment as well as a 1/2 month up front as finders fee for tenants.

I think that you need about 50 or so clients to make bread and still be able to be available for all of them. You might need an assistant.

I was looking to start as an assistant. How did you get into the business?

I bought a house when I was 26 and moved to another state because of my job. So by necessity actually. Had to keep it rented. Good skills to have are attention to detail, negotiation skills, conflict management, and knowledge of property laws for your state. Some states require you to get a license. Good luck.
