It's not by his company you fukking idiot. The fact checkers are appointed by an organization Facebook put in place. Like I said, if anything zuck should be checking into the org and see what went wrong in that decision making process.

Normally the engaging company would have a veto. Example: Facebook is not going to let a competitor fact-check them.

She is asking (by implication) "why did you (Facebook) not veto it?".

NB. I should add that similarly Facebook doesn't commission individual adverts themselves either, but they control which adverts agencies allow to appear on their platform.

This is all for show. Professional clout-chasing.

They get their moment to show they are for the people (so that they can be reelected). Zuck plays the clock to not have to directly answer any questions (and some of those questions were stupid by the way). Zuck dodging. Politicians will vote for laws their owners tell them to vote for. Facebook has 60 lobbyists probably working full time, paid to pressure law makers on both side.

It's just a big show to make you feel like people are being held accountable (they are not).
