ive said it before but its more apparent now, this country as it is not sustainable. The two sides belong to different countries.
these are not just "disagreements" with two sides that have valid points. That was obvious to me just on the treatment of minorities alone. Now we got the anti-DEI push, the anti-free healthcare, anti-scholarships, anti- LUNCH FOR STARVING KIDS, anti-Canada, Anti-Ukraine, anti-SOCIAL SECURITY gang that can take control of everything every 4 years.
1. Should have deleted Fox News when they admitted in court they were just entertainment and could lie
2. Should have gotten taxing billionaires under control
3. Shouldn't have sold out to Israel and facilitated Genocide
this country is DONE and everyone is just in denial about it. There is no Unity to be had. These people are trained to HATE us to the point where they vote against their own interests, lose their jobs, and still don't regret it. It is DONE.
Voting was just about making sure trump/conservatives are not in control of the military when the obvious finally happens. But we lost the match of hot potato and it might be over for real now

I wonder how much would've changed if Al Gore didn't have the election stolen from him. Fox News grew tremendously when Bush was in and became legitimatize in the media. All of their nonsense laid the ground work MAGA
I read Obama’s autobiography recently and the thing that stood out to me the most while reading it was how much it foreshadowed Trump becoming president. Sarah Palin was unqualified to be running as vice president and was saying wild stuff during the campaign and Republicans ate it up, which was kind of different from how politics had been up to that point.
Obama became president and worked hard to fulfill his campaign promises and help people & every time he got a win the Republicans would spin it as something awful and Democrats would say that he didn’t do enough. The republicans refused to even listen to anything he tried to say to them or come to compromises to help the American people.
Then Trump started the stupid rumor about him not being an American citizen and being an illegitimate president and the news went crazy with the story even though it was complete BS.
I was a kid when all this stuff was happening so I wasn’t paying that much attention to it, but seeing it all laid out like this now it seems obvious that it was leading to Republicans becoming more radicalized and crazy shyt being accepted as normal. There isn’t really a way to walk this back because they’ve shown how effective their tactics can be

I think Hillary implied it during their primary battle, iirc. I could be misremembering, though
I don’t know if she implied it. He mentioned that she took the campaign a bit personally and came at him with some personal attacks, but Trump was the one who pushed the birth certificate thing hard. This was in the second half of Obama’s first term.
