She could run, but I 100% expect her to be subjected to an onslaught of hit pieces full of slander, stretched truth, and straight up disinformation spearheaded by Elon’s far right Twitter and pushed by most of the mainstream media, who are either in bed with MAGA or quietly support them because Trump’s chaos and his attention whoring is good for business. That’s exactly what happened to Kamala, and it’d be even worse for newsome.

Only way i could see a dem standing a chance is if they have a following just as cultish as Trump. I don’t think there’s anyone like that though, they would have been brought out already. AOC is the far left’s sweetheart but I don’t think they have the numbers or the grit to keep up with MAGA’s cruelty and false information.

And, this may be a topic for another thread, but I think Israel’s got its roots too deep into American politics for any far left politician to be effective. Sooner or later she’s gonna hit bedrock and have to bend the knee to them or something, and then a lot of her far left supporters are going to abandon her.

Seeing how AOC was at the Munich Security Conference convinces me she is NOT ready for primetime.

Foreign Policy is the one area where the POTUS has the most power and while she said some nice things here and there, her worldview is not a confident statement. It is very different than how she talks about domestic issues.

Ro Khanna has a better, fleshed out view on all these things. He'd be a much better option for the progressive wing of the party. But AOC is being pushed to run for POTUS. I don't like it.

Unfortunately, we're probably getting Gavin Newsom or Kamala Harris again. :francis:

She’ll be ready by time the debates pop off.

Real talk, AOC should be a lifer politician. Be a senator. I don't think most politicians should be lifers, but AOC seemingly cares about the average person. She's the type who will definitely give the appropriate oversight to ensure people are being looked out for.

Has there really ever been a strong woman candidate yet

The closest was probably Hillary cause of the positions she had(so on a technicality which isn’t saying much) but she was too thirsty and couldn’t win people over, maybe Elizabeth Warren

The point is if there was a truly strong woman candidate she can compete for that seat

HILLARY ACTUALLY WON
EVERY RACIAL DEMOGRAPHIC
BY A LANDSLIDE EXCEPT FOR
WHITE MEN WHICH SHE LOST
32/62 AND WHITE WOMEN 45/47

SPECIFICALLY NON COLLEGE GRAD
WHITE MEN DID HER IN
AND NO FEMALE CANDIDATE WILL
EVER HAVE AS MUCH SUCCESS AS
SHE DID

At this point it's a combination of name recognition and a crowded field.

Yeah I think trying to speculate about who will be running in 2028 before the midterms is pointless. It's just way too early.

It could easily end up being someone we're not even thinking about. After all, it's not like anybody expected Obama to be a contender in 2006.
