America's educational system has many issues, but this isn't one of them. No country teaches about the demographics of most other countries (especially if that demographic is in the miniscule minority).

In the IG post in the OP, I saw many Black English people say that not even they knew that Black Scots existed. So it has nothing to do with American media or anything like that.
Scotland is overwhelmingly White and so a Black person being from Scotland is just not something that crosses most people's minds
BBC is fairly popular in America so we get plenty of shows from there. I thought you knew of some Scottish ones
