I know the general consensus is when he dropped The New Danger album but even, when the music lacked or wasn’t what many wanted to hear(True Magic album), he still was in good movies (Something The Lord Made, The Italian Job, Be Kind Rewind, Cadillac Records)

I think the pressure of trying to do both weighed heavy on him and when it got to be either too much or not fun, he fell back and lost interest or maybe realized that being in the spotlight wasn’t for him
I also think he signed a lot bad deals back in the day like many artists do, because it’s interesting to me how most of his albums aren’t on Spotify and other streaming apps as well.
Ever since he started going by yasiiin bey, he ain’t released one traditional album;
The few albums (Dec 99th, No Fear of Time and Money Christmas EP and Negus) have all been released via bandcamp, luminary (No Fear of Time) except Negus (museum release)
I can only imagine how much money he charged for that Negus album and how much money he got from the music for it. And I heard the songs were old, like from 2014 when he was out in London, recording.
And with that said, that Alchemist album is now just another unreleased album along with the album he recorded with Manny Fresh
I really don’t even care about the new albums anymore.
I’ll just listen to the old albums when I want to hear some music from him.
