It's gimmicky if you aren't creative. For graphic design and music it's a game changer.

to me there are way better tools for that

I'm tempted to pull the trigger but my 2012 rMBP is still running strong and outside of Touch ID I don't have a reason to justify spending another 3 bands after buying 2 new 4K TVs, Xbox One S and pre-order of a PS4 Pro.

I think I'm stick with the OG consoles until next true next gen drop or cop it used later

I'd buy one if they were capable of running Mavericks, the last proper OS that Apple has released. I bought a 15 inch rMBP last year and returned it a few days later purely because I couldn't run Mavericks.
