Windows would never use a single gradient, gaussian blur or bokeh. iOS 7 is very different than the brand guidelines MS uses in Metro.
Look at the caller ID screen. The use of the skinny Helvetica like fonts. That's heavily influenced by Windows. I never said Apple dug into the Microsoft design book. But they did take a glance at what was working.
And it's all right to copy or "borrow" good UI/UX from one another; because it sets a unified-cross-OS industry standard for how elements work/interact.
I agree. That's why I don't fault the Apple gesture biting that happened when Android and WebOS dropped.
