How’d you cop a new one?

Used Apple Care. My screen was very lightly lifting from the case itself so I exaggerated it and showed it to them. They replaced it no questions asked.

They said "good thing you came today because this is the last day of Apple Care for this phone"

I was like "I know "

Until iCloud backup covers every app on my phone, I’m backing up to my Mac weekly. iCloud backup doesn’t cover music purchased outside of iTunes or apps that contain any saved information (unless the app is iCloud enabled by the developer) like separate photos, videos or documents. Learned that the hard way the last time I damaged a phone and lost couple thousand songs that I burned years ago from CDs.

Unless they changed something, full iTunes doesn't cover music purchased outside of iTunes (and not synced with your library) either. It's my only nitpick about their backup process. I have all of my stuff on a home server though so it's only a slight annoyance of copying my must have music back.

Otherwise, the backup process is amazing.

Yes, that’s still the case and it’s the reason I ensure my outside-purchased music is synced/stored in iTunes on my Mac. I didn’t do that before and just assumed it was all uploaded to the cloud as long as it was on my phone. I actually pull out the iTunes folder from the root files and upload the library to iCloud Drive in case the Mac’s HD takes a crap...
