that doesn't make sense
You ALWAYS save photos on your phone.
If it's stored you saved it, there is no save button when you take a photo, you click you save.

What you mean is you delete it afterwards
Doesn't mean they can't retrieve it in short time after
I haven’t taken any in the first place

and haven’t been sent any

I haven’t saved pictures from websites I’ve visited

intrusive af and what if the tech misidentifies a photo as a “child abuse” photo
This is definitely going to happen. But that isn’t the point.

These companies and actors always use things like that as the scapegoat. Because they know it’ll trigger almost unanimous support from the majority of people because it seems like it’s for a good cause.

However, it’s really meant to be used for massive data harvesting from photos. For any number of reasons anything that could be considered illegal (state documents, weapons, drugs etc.)

While back doors exist they’re not really centralized. I believe this is the press release for a centralized back door for any number of intelligence agencies.

Again, as people are still incorrect I’ll explain:

1) You take/receive a picture.
2) The picture gets run through a hashing algorithm to generate an encrypted hash value
3) That value is added to an on device database of hashes and is cross-referenced with a database of known hashes of known illegal images.
4) The process will be fully automated.

No one will be looking at your pictures, who isn’t already.

The sleepless city
Fck around with those clouds if y'all want to, I'll always love my expandable, encrypted and removable memory.

They wanna see what kind of/how many guns some have, wanna see how many plants you got growing, scan faces of those your associated with....etc etc... The sky's the limit...

In this thread, we'll learn that Coli posters don't understand how smartphones or technology works

Once again: The FBI or the NSA can look at your phone whenever they want to. Please understand that there are backdoors in just about every major OS on the planet.

If I'm mistaken, Linus once implied that the feds approached him about putting in backdoors into Linux

I wouldn't be surprised if the feds constantly discover the holes and keep it to themselves

As for the big boys? You'd be crazy to not think that the US Gov has'nt approached Apple and Microsoft and asked them to either put backdoors in their OS or keep them abreast of any flaws, holes, or exploits
