If you do any kind of development work in the IT and engineering field a macbook pro is the best equipment you can have.

Personally i like apple products but am NOT a 'fan-boy' by any means. I have 2 macbook pros (personal and work) and an iPad pro. I do NOT like iPhones, however. I've been thinking about switching back to iPhone for the last 2 years because of how well apple products work well with each other. However i just cant bring myself to get back into the iPhone world. I's so restrictive + Google Pixel phones are superior in some ways IMO. I just cant bring myself to pull the trigger. We'll see what happens when it's time for a new phone.
And for you apple fan boys who will read this and argue with me as if I dont know what im talking about when it comes to IOS, know that I do have an iPhone 8 that i use for work and been using iPhones for years.
So dont assume im someone whos never touched an iPhone and talking out of my ass

Surface pros are underpowered IMO. They are really the equivalent of an iPad pro. Not same class as Macbook pro. was assigned a surface pro when i started this job im at right now. 3 weeks in i asked them to switch me to a macbook pro and havent looked back since.
DOnt take this as me not appreciating Windows OS at all. I have 5 computers (including 1 work computer) and 2 run Linux, 1 windows 10 and the others are the 2 macbooks. One of my linux machines is a Centos server running Windows virtual machine in it. Another laptop runs Windows 10 and is what i use for all my shared data in my home network. That's just to show you I do use and appreciate Windows unlike some Mac fans who shyt on it. But in no way am i picking a Surface pro over a macbook. In a way they are not comparable. The comparable product for surface pro is really an iPad pro. We can depate about which is the better of the two and chances are...most will pick the iPad pro.

I just prefer to use a mac. I know there are terminal tools you can buy or download for windows to give it a similar unix-like interface but the implementation isnt close to the Mac's

For about 700 bucks (And using parts from my old rig) I built a top of the line I7 8700K I use for 4k Video editing and I usually have my VLC player streaming Eternal TV on a 2nd monitor (Or watching YouTube) so I'm streaming TV and editing 4K video at the same time on this machine. I think it could compete with the new Apple machine if I updated the ram and a few components but I play 2K and all my computer games on it with the graphics maxed out
